In 1997, members of the Hagler family, former major shareholders of pump manufacturer, GIW Industries (now a subsidiary of KSB AG of Germany), established Hagler Systems, Inc. (HSI) to provide dredging/mining equipment and technical services to the North American dredge/mining market .

While distribution sales grew, the engineering department at HSI continued to impress the dredging and slurry industries with innovative solutions and designs for pumping applications. In 2002, HSI opened a machining and fabricating shop in North Augusta, South Carolina to manufacture their custom designs. HSi also expanded its market to include Europe.

While building a reputation for their booster designs, cleanouts, automated control systems, and much, much, more, HSI continues to represent GIW pumps, as well as other dredge and slurry suppliers and products.
